Who We Are

Good Steward Ministries (GSM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose goal is to encourage good stewardship of people’s resources, with the primary focus on material goods. By doing so, GSM is able to support organizations and ministries that assist in meeting the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of others.

Started in 2005 by founder Mark Cabrera, Good Steward Ministries has been funded solely through the generous donations of clothing, books, furniture, and housewares from local communities. These donated items are then sold through their three retail outlets, with the proceeds benefiting homeless shelters and pregnancy shelters in the United States. Additionally, the excess from the GSM retail stores is taken to Ghana in West Africa where a number of humanitarian projects are underway.

From an early age, Mark grew up having frequent yard sales with his mother, using the money to help fund his mission trips. During these trips, he discovered a great need for financial resources and assistance, and after much prayer, he felt that providing this help was his true calling. Since then, he has been encouraging Christians to be good stewards with their financial resources and the material items they discard – all to be used towards the greater good of those in need.

When you shop at Good Steward Ministries, you’re helping to fund important projects like the orphanage in Ghana pictured below.
